Welcome to our CaringBridge site. It has been created to keep friends and family updated about our son Braison.
-God only gives you what you can handle, I just wish he didnt trust me so much.
Braison Brinkman was born 5/27/05 via C-section. Two weeks early and the first born for his father and I. As a typical mamma's boy, most family would say he would crawl back into my belly if he could.Braison had/has some developmental delays. Greatly in the area of speech but is showing great improvement. He was also diagnosed with Sensory Processing Dysfunction most likely due to the issues stated below.
In the spring of 2008 I pushed for a neurology visit at CHOP which required pushing and shoving unfortunatly. The neurologist ordered an MRI. The MRI showed profound pervasive spaces and a nonspecific right thalamic leison. They feel as though this is a low grade glioma-astrocytoma. We've seeked over 20 different opinions from all around the country.
Recently he was diagnosed with an Autoimmune disorder called PANDAS. This may or may not be related to the leison. We are still in search for answers.
I am proud to say that Braison has made it 7 whole year without additional tumor/lesion growth and we believe its due to our extraordinary perserverance, alternative treatments and prayer. Before we did any of this his tumor/lesion doubled in size within just a few months.

-In just 9 months your life changes instantly forever.
-You have a child and the worry will stop just about never.
-Is he ok, will he make friends and will he learn to talk.
-And when he grows old, will he love, and meet his bride at the promising walk?
-But then one day you hear the crashing news that all is not ok.
-The gut wrenching film of sadness is long here to stay.
-Children are suppose to be invisible, gods new faith in life.
-Then why does he give them such challenges, it cuts my heart with a knife.
-Having a child is like wearing your heart on your sleeve.
-You’d give your life to make them happy, a little reprieve.
-Only thing to do at this point is try and pray for the best.
-Because god willing, I refuse to lay my son to rest.
