Latest Site Updates

Journal

Hello everyone! I haven't had anything to update you with until this week. On Tuesday, I had a CT scan of my whole body. The results were very encouraging: the primary prostate mass has markedly decreased in size; pelvic lymphadenopathy and a right lung metastasis have resolved (disappeared from the scan); skeletal metastases have become more sclerotic (cancer bone sites are healing); likely indicating a healing response to therapy; no new sites of disease! I need to confess that I did not take a online medical terminology class or use an AI tool to write the descriptions of my results but did it the old fashion way and lifted the verbiage from the medical report. While meeting with my oncologist today he mentioned that he is very pleased with these results. Things are going the right way with all the medications and treatments.

I feel fine with no pain and just some achiness in my left hip and tingling in my left shin. Because of the medications I am taking I will not have the energy levels that I had a year ago and will grow tired more easily. Still waiting to know how much that will affect me as time goes on but the doctor did warn me that it will not be the same as before. Also, he will continue to monitor for signs of the cancer trying to come back and that is a very real possibility. When it does, I will  get more chemo treatments using a different medication. In the meantime, I will continue to take pills daily, receive bone strengthening treatments monthly, and get shots in the rear twice a year.

That is life with my kind of prostate cancer and I look forward to facing that challenge with Lori at my side, lots of naps, and a new head of hair (someday)!
