Brad’s Story

Site created on December 2, 2023

Please read below for Brad’s story. We appreciate your support, words of hope and encouragement, and most of all, PRAYER!

To start off with the diagnosis, Brad has (stage IV) metastatic renal cell carcinoma. Stage IV means that the cancer has metastasized to another location in the body, away from the point of origin. In Brad’s case, his point of origin is his left kidney (renal = kidney).

Early November, Brad was having pain in his left hip. This was the same leg that recently had a knee replacement. With the thoughts of more osteoarthritic pain rearing its head in another location, Brad went to the doctor to have it examined. After imaging was ordered and performed, there was a lesion on Brad’s pelvis that raised concern. Shortly after, a biopsy was performed.

As we now know, that biopsy gave us the metastatic renal cell carcinoma diagnosis.

Brad has made the decision to journey to one of the top cancer treatment centers called MD Anderson, in Arizona, for next steps.

Anyone who knows Brad knows he is a gentle soul; a hard worker who will give the shirt off of his back to anyone else in need. He is selfless, kind, and will try his hardest to make you laugh - we’d be lying if we said we have not been subject to one of Brad’s horrible jokes!

This has been a tough season for Brad and his family as he also just recently lost his mother at the end of August.

He is determined and eager to hit this cancer head-on! In the words of Brad, “Let’s kick this cancer’s butt!!”

Our biggest wish is the most powerful one there is, your prayer! We know God has Brad in His arms and that He can and will use Brad in his situation to further His kingdom. We pray for God’s will but we also pray for healing because IT IS POSSIBLE! Yes, it is! We must believe it! We will do our part, praying for healing, peace, and comfort, trusting in the knowledge that God has the rest.

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." -Mark 11:24

Thank you for being here, we are thankful for you!

Tomorrow is Dad’s funeral. That is a fact we have yet to wrap our minds around…

We will be so blessed and excited to see everyone tomorrow; however, we know not all can be present.

Here is a link to watch the funeral live or at a later time:

Please bring some stories or memories to share! And don’t worry, you don’t have to share them into a microphone, but rather, we will have cards you can write on too!

Thank you all in advance. We love you ❤️
