Ebenezer Stones
Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, "Thus far the LORD has helped us." (1 Samuel 7:12)
Samuel set up an Ebenezer stone of remembrance to help God's people remember times when God's hand was upon them. Ebenezer moments are not just times when you know without a doubt that God has intervened in your life; they should also fill you with awe and wonder. You realize that only God, in His miraculous ways, could have allowed the outcomes you have experienced. His help has brought you through.
Today, we raise an Ebenezer.
Bo under went surgery this morning to have the chemotherapy port removed. It is pretty simple: no more chemo port, no more chemo. Having his port removed is a significant milestone in Bo's journey, as we are one step closer to being done with treatment.
We move from chemotherapy, and in a few weeks, begin radiation. We will meet with the radial oncologist on the 9th to discuss a treatment plan for his lungs.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (Psalm 18:2)
