Bonnie’s Story

Site created on January 25, 2015

Welcome to Bonnie Lloyd's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Mom was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (a blood cancer) in September of 2012. She has been treated with various chemotherapy regimens, two autologous stem cell transplants, and radiation therapy. She has been in complete and stringent remission twice, but unfortunately (as of May 2018), her disease strengthened and returned. It is refractory to most all available chemo regimens. She recently discontinued her current therapy (Revlimid, Ninlaro, Dexamethasone) because it caused significant cardio/hepatotoxicity (heart and liver damage). Mom has been through so much agony and distress. Yet, her resilient faith, hope, and optimism outshines the darkness of despair. Amidst all of her pain and discomfort, we have never seen her complain. We have never seen her lose hope. Her greatest desire is to follow the Lord's will and fulfill the callings that she has in this life and beyond. She is faithful, hopeful, prayerful, and full of love. She knows the Lord is in charge. She is grateful for His comforting Spirit that carries her through the darkest hours. She is a warrior. She has loved the recent one-on-one time with each of the children, as we've taken turns assisting during these recent setbacks. Her heart is full of gratitude for such hidden blessings, as she is always looking for silver linings. She is the eternal optimist.

She is also grateful for the love and kindness that each of you offer through kind words and deeds. She is buoyed up by your loving encouragement, support, and prayers. She would love to update and thank each of you individually, but her energy level will not allow it at this time. But, she did want to add her simple, personal message:

"Smile. All will be well with the Lord on our side."

We are forever grateful for our mother's strength, courage, and example. We are also grateful for your comforting friendship and support at this time.

With love,
The Lloyd Children
