Bonnie’s Story

Site created on August 18, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  Bonnie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on July 8, 2018.  She had a mastectomy on August 16 at University of Washington Hospital.  Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is coordinating her care.  She is currently home recovering from surgery and is on sick leave from her counseling position at Ridgetop Middle School.   Matthew was able to be with her for two weeks to provide support; her brother Bobby has also been able to be with her.  Follow up chemotherapy will begin in approximately four weeks, with subsequent radiation.

Bonnie has a finite amount of sick leave and will need more to carry her through this process.  If you are an employee of the Central Kitsap School District and  would like to donate sick or personal leave please email Chris Wyatt at cusatenko@gmail.com.  The sick leave sharing request will come out from HR in early December, however for planning purposes we would like to know how many days may be available.

Bonnie is thankful for your fervent prayers. Please continue to pray for God's complete healing.  Other ways to support Bonnie will be listed on this website as they become available.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Chris Wyatt

Bonnie finished radiation in March and is now in the midst of her last 3 months for chemotherapy, with an anticipated end date toward the end of June.

She thanks everyone for your prayers, love and support.  She greatly appreciates the cards, food, and donations of sick leave.

Bonnie continues to praise God for healing her.  Please pray that through these last sessions of chemotherapy she does not get as ill as the last series and for strength for her.
