Bob “Wip”’s Story

Site created on November 26, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
As the family was divided between Colorado and Minnesota for Thanksgiving this year, Wip had just joined us at our home for dinner. The Vikings were on and falling behind and Wip headed downstairs to the bar with a favorite beverage and a snack in hand. On his way down, Wip fell on the stairs and landed hard at the bottom. We quickly called an ambulance and Wip was on his way to Region’s Hospital. As he was being being wheeled out, and in Wip fashion, he was insisting he was fine and just needed to head for home. Once he got to Region’s, we learned just how hard he had fallen. He has bleeding on his brain and several fractures on his right side.

Journal entry by Charlie Wiplinger

Good Morning Everyone,

After another extended stay in medical facilities, dad finally got to come home yesterday from the Capital View TCU in regions! It's been a long road thus far and we have a long way to go as well. Therapies will continue while we work through when we can start lowering anti-seizure meds and the dementia diagnosis. Thanks for following along!
