Robert (Bob) Wayne Larson, age 91, of Staples passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 under the care of Lakewood Hospice. He answered the Lord's call, which he had been waiting for with great anticipation, and died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in his own home. Bob was born to Ruth and Carl Fransen in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 8, 1932. His birth father drowned before he was born. His birth mother was unable to care for him and his three siblings, so he was taken in by his aunt and uncle, Gustav and Vendla Larson, who later adopted him.
He married Dorothy McNeil on June 5, 1954 at Bethesda Free Church in Minneapolis. Bob worked for Osseo School District as a Custodian and was also a Union Steward, later working full time for the Union as a Representative where he retired after many years.
Bob was always full of fun and ready with a prank or a joke. He loved Jesus, loved his family, and spent each day praying for family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Stanley Larson and sister, Alice Catherwood. Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Peggy Thorn (Gary), Laurel Jenson (Tom) and Amy Widmark (Glenn), 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 26th, 2023, at Camp Shamineau in Oak Hollow with gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. A lunch will follow the service in the dining hall.
