Bob (kruser)’s Story

Site created on April 24, 2014

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

Dr. Daraby PET Scan Report Bob Kruse
Tummer has shrunk and is not active,
Small spot is new lower down from the present tummer, with inflammation could be cancer.
There is a area on right rib cage that was previously thought to be a fracture but due to the time the period it was done in the 80s it is deemed to be bone cancer which was active and it shows no activity at this time.
The doctor will contact the ENT and update his information so we can see if they can proceed to open up his throat area, so he can swallow.  This may take 2to 3 surgeries at the U of M.
He will have a change in medication for his neb and for sleeping at night.
Discontinue lorazepam and take ambrein for sleep.
He will go on maintenance for his chemo treatment plan.
He will receive chemo med every 2 week to 3 weeks
He will get a medication every 3 weeks by use of a pump which is placed near the port.
In 3 months, Bob will have another PET scan to see how the cancer is doing.
This is much better news and a good 71st birthday present! {September 11th)
I do not know the names of the chemo meds yet or the pump medication.
The new plan should take force in the next 2 days and there will be less side effects with the changes.
