Journal entry by Sarah Kress —
Well, we have made it back to our home in Mason City. What a journey the last seven months have been. Bob’s esophageal cancer diagnosis put us on the road to many doctor’s appointments, chemo and radiation treatments followed by a very difficult and long surgery during a blizzard in Des Moines. Of course, a fall down a set of steep stairs causing a broken collarbone was just another bump in the road. All of this concluding with a miraculous result of Bob being told that he is “cancer free!” The apartment we rented in Newton kept us close to Bob’s doctors and our remarkable family. Our stay there turned out to be another blessing for PT and OT therapy to come to us. We really enjoyed our activities with our family as they spent a lot of time keeping us entertained. ❤️
We know that there will be many appointments to come as Bob will be closely monitored for a few years, but right now we are rejoicing in the grace of God. We will never forget all the love and support that all of you have shown us! Thank you!
Amen,
Sarah
