Bob’s Story

Site created on January 9, 2020

Bob was recently diagnosed with liver cancer. We are starting this site to keep you informed of his prayer needs and also his physical needs as he goes through treatment. Bob is an amazing man of God and wants to encourage you with these verses.
" 1 Corinthians 9:19-20 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law though I myself am not under the law so as to win those under the law.
Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
It was a really tough day for Bob when he came to us to ask for help.  His oncologist has recommended he take at least 5 months off of work. Bob is a skilled carpenter and working during treatment would take too much of a toll on his body.
Bob will be starting treatment on Tuesday, January 14th. He will have IV chemo treatments every three weeks and will have chemo pills to take daily. Bob served time in the Army and the VA will be able to cover most of his medical expenses. The goal is to shrink the tumor and then surgery and radiation to remove what the chemo doesn't clear up, however I"m sure there will be financial needs beyond what they will cover.
Bob lives a very humble life, his monthly bills are very modest. We would like to help Bob meet a few of his financial needs while he focuses on healing and sharing the good news of the gospel to everyone around him.

Bob welcomes visitors and appreciate your sincere prayers.

God knows the number of our days, not man, but science is telling us that our friend Bob's days are short. If there's anything we can say, it's that Bob's run a good race. He does however have a few bills that are weighing heavy on his heart and he's not wanting them to fall heavy on the ones he loves the most.

Romans 13:8 is the verse that came to his mind " owe man nothing but love". Bob's wanting to be able to pay $3,900.00 towards his taxes on his home. I (Amber Clark) think it would be amazing to be able to also help cover his funeral expenses.

Bob's been undergoing chemo for quite some time now and has been unable to work. God's people do wonderful work when we come together. Let's send Bob to his heavenly home without the weight of bills on his mind!

Gifts can be submitted online or can be dropped off at the Common Grounds Coffeehouse (104 E 7th)and we will pass them on. Please be praying for Bob and all of those around him that the journey to the heavenliness will be as pleasant as earthly possible.

Sincerely ,

  Amber Clark
