Newest Update

Journal entry by Carla Schiffel

Dear Friends,

During this season of Lent, I have taken time to reflect on the past year.
Time flies when you are having fun!

I felt that I needed to share with all of you Bob’s update from his latest MRI and visit to Duke a couple of weeks ago. Dr Freidman said that all that he sees are the ashes. He does not know what caused the “fire” but everything looks good. Bob proudly shared with him a video of him boxing with his Coach, and Dr. Freidman said, “You may not float like a butterfly but you sting like a bee!”. His doctor is such a gifted practitioner and we are thankful for his willingness  to share his gift with his patients.

I continue to see all of the blessings that God showered on us, and continues to shower us with! Bob is back driving, active on the Board of Health as the Chair, active on a NC State Board of Dentistry Foundation, and active in our Church, ready to cook his famous BBQ for a fund raiser in a few weeks. Most importantly, he remains a devoted husband, Father, and Grandfather. The other day Walker said, “Bob Bob is a little bit good and a little bit bad,”, after he was up to his shanagans of aggitating Walker at the dinner table, and I was fussing at him for it😜. No truer words were ever spoken, and we all love him for who he is! He amazes me with his determination to press on. He does still have some slight deficits, but the operative word in this sentence is “SLIGHT”!!!

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and friendship. We will never forget your kindness and the important role that you played in Bob’s recovery. Our God is abundantly good!

Wishing you and all all of your loved ones a happy Easter filled with laughter and fun times spent with one another.

Much love, hugs and kisses,
Carla
