Bob "Dad" is doing well and moving towards his recovery!

Sorry for the delay in the update about Bob post surgery.  We have had a challenging experience with the initial "rehab/wellness center" that he was sent to after surgery.  Bob spent a little over a week at a facility that was closer to his home but unfortunately did not provide the level of care necessary to help him rehab properly.  This facility closed all access to visitors which caused additional communication issues.  The level of communication and lack of care motivated us to get him moved quickly to another facility that we had previous experience with from previous rehab stays.  The new rehab facility is associated with a large reputable hospital group here in Austin and immediately provided the level of care and attention that Bob needed to start progressing towards getting back home.  This facility also allowed safe access to our mom to help the providers work best with Bob.  We are confident that he is now on the right path has a plan and is given the level of rehab assistance to get him back home to a similar state of movement and independence that he previously experienced. 

Our lesson to share with others is to make sure that if you have a elderly loved one that has some communication issues and depends on others to help fully communicate.....please insure that any facility they are sent to is fully vetted and find out exactly the level of care they can provide and communication expectations you should expect from the providers.
