Bob’s Story

Site created on October 23, 2023

On Oct 8th Bob suffered a stroke. He had a blood clot in a main artery that they went in and blasted apart. He has lost most of the forms of communication. He can gesture and tries his best to communicate. He has lost his peripheral vision on the right side. On Oct 21st he suffered his 2nd stroke in the same spot. He lost most feeling on the right side. Most of that has slowly come back. The  Neurosurgeon who did his emergency Thrombectomy said   there was nothing else they could do for the  occlusion so he was admitted to Osceola Hospital for rehab. . He has a blood clot in the same spot and it's too risky to operate. The stroke area has grown. They will be doing an MRI today to further evaluate. Bob seems to be giving up. Please continue to pray for him and Kelly who had a heart attack and stints put in a week before Bob’s stroke and is still recovering. At this time Bob can not have visitors except family

Journal entry by Kelly Babel

Today has been a tougher day for Bob. He has been very frustrated with trying to understand me and getting me to understand him. He also doesn't understand why someone has to be here while I'm gone. I explained that the hospital told me for the first week home this is what needs to be done. He has not been happy! Tomorrow he will see the neurologist to get a work-up and we will go from thete.
