Usually, this error occurs when your PC is unable to connect to the update server, or when you have less than 500 MB in the system reserved partition. Moreover, the same error code 0x800F0922 might show up on your screen when you are installing or updating the .NET framework.

Steps to Fix Error Code 0x800F0922 on Windows 10

Method-1: Run DISM and SFC tools

1.     In the Windows Search box, type cmd.

2.     Now, right-click on the Command Prompt option and select the Run as administrator option.

3.     Then, type sfc/scannow

4.     Press the Enter key.

5.     Next, type the following command one by one and press enter key after each of them:

  • exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  • exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

6.     After that, close the Command Prompt.

7.     Finally, restart your computer system for all the changes to take effects.

Method-2: Reset Windows Update Component

1.     Click on the Windows + X keys together on the keyboard.

2.     Then, Choose the Command Prompt.

3.     Now, disable the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer, and also the Windows Update Services by typing the given-path in the Command Prompt window. And click on the enter key after entering each command:

  • net stop wuauserv
  • net stop cryptSvc
  • net stop bits
  • net stop msiserver
  • ren C:\\Windows\\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
  • ren C:\\Windows\\System32\\catroot2 Catroot2.old

Note: the last two paths are only used for renaming the Software Distribution and Catroot2 folders.

4.     Next, when all the commands are successfully executed, then enable BITS, Cryptographic, MSI installer and the Windows Update Service by typing one by one all the given paths in the Command Prompt and press Enter key after each of them:

  • net start wuauserv
  • net start cryptSvc
  • net start bits
  • net start msiserver

5.     Finally, close the Command Prompt window.

6.     Restart your system for all the changes to take effects.
