Newest Update

Journal entry by Matt Rice

so I guess I should officially update. We had our post-surgery visit with the pediatric epileptologist a couple of weeks ago. Since he’s been having so many seizures since surgery we’ve officially declared the surgery a bust. We’re out of good medication options. We’re trying to throw another daily bed on top of the rest but it’s similar to one that didn’t work in the past so not super high hopes.

For now, we focus on keeping him comfortable and wait for some technology to come down the pipe that will allow them to place EEG electrodes deeper in his brain- some sort of robotic assist thing. Sorry to not have great news. We had high hopes but it just didn’t work. This is Bs last year of high school. After that no idea what I’ll do with him during the day so I can still work. Thoughts, prayers & assistance appreciated.
