19 days have gone by since my son Brendan’s accident …some of the days are a blur and some have seemed like they would never end.
Brendan continues to receive miraculous care in the ICU Burn Unit at Loyola Hospital in Maywood. With 2 surgeries behind him, the team of doctors at Loyola are waiting a few more days to decide whether Brendan will require future skin grafting.
Brendan is nothing short of a warrior in his recovery. He continues to astound the medical staff here at Loyola and his parents. While the road of healing is long and winding given the complexity of burns, we are steadfast in our belief that he will eventually fully recover.
I would like to thank everyone that has reached out to me over the past 19 days and given me words of support, prayed with me, sent me scripture and been a pillar for me to lean on so that I can be a pillar for my son.
