Newest update!
So all in all it’s been a bit of an up and down hill journey back at the hospital. Long story short of it is this, his treatment is broken up in the several teams, like surgery team, infectious disease team, primary care team. Etc. this is such a sensitive area. Nobody wants to take the lead and kind of pushes it off to the next team, which has been a bit frustrating. Everyone is afraid to touch it.
It comes down to this. His stomach still has its draining from the original pancreatitis and subsequent damage from having to be cut open in his belly and often gets an infection. Some teams want to get the drainage out, but also don’t want to do the surgery to do it because they are next to vital organs that they don’t want to mess with. so I believe they are going with the antibiotic option and continue to kill it that way.
They put a tube in last night, which going in we were told was a small chance that it would actually be successfully located into the pocket. They got it in, but it’s not draining. Appears it isn’t in the pocket very good….This was very painful procedure.
So as of now, we are unsure if they’re removing both drains now and going to all antibiotics . Hopefully we find out today and be released home again!!
Thank you continued thoughts and prayers, they are very welcome and appreciated and needed ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
