Merry Christmas Everyone!
We wanted to take some time and say thank you (I've been told by Kleenex that I'm not allowed to make anyone cry, as cold and flu season is taking over their demand so this will be cheer-filled I promise). Let's get into it!

As we were driving Nightrider home Christmas Eve and Charlie was telling me to "be one with the music" (the music being Tommy B's Christmas Medley) in the backseat, I was instead one with the moment. Our family together, giggling at goofy stuff that only we find funny, means so much more this year. And it would not have been possible without the hard work by our doctors, nurses and all of your love and support. We are so incredibly lucky to have all of you in our lives. We hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season and that you are able to enjoy time family and friends. By way of saying thank you, my parents have written a Christmas card this year and I've attached it below.

A few updates, as many of you know Billy got to spend some time back at Stony Brook due to an infection. As an early Christmas gift to me and dad he also gave us Covid, but we pushed through and were very lucky to test negative in time to spend Christmas with our whole family. At Stony Brook they performed a bone biopsy along with several other tests in order to best determine the source and type of the infection which means that they were able to prescribe him the antibiotic that will work most effectively against it. The downside being that he will have a pick line for the next 6 weeks or so. As Billy says, "It is what it is." not a big set back but for sure not the most fun for the holidays (not that we are not having an amazing time: 5 whole days with the 5 of us doesn't happen often!).

He was, however, able to take his first official shower in the new bathroom! As he puts it, "I think it was more fun for all the other people in there." because this bathroom is, much like the Chevy Suburban, big enough for the whole family. But once we all cleared out he was able to chill for a bit on his own and he is able to do a lot thanks to Mr. Leaden's incredible design work!

Our last update, Johns Hopkins decided not to take us because we are still waiting on his wounds to heal and for his legs to start up again. So we're going to take a few months to keep healing, keep getting stronger and then we will start the process for finding a new rehab center. We are very much cherishing having Billy and his shenanigans at home for now as he continues to heal and get stronger!
So from our family to yours, for the last time of 2023, thank you and we love you.
