William Carl “Bill” Narhi, age 64, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2020 in Vero Beach, Florida, after an impressive battle with small-cell lung cancer. His spirited efforts in this battle allowed him to spend his final months in the care of his loving daughter, Megan “Shawn” Silver and his immensely loyal friends, Tony and Kevin.

Bill was born in Ashtabula, Ohio to John and Mary Narhi. He is survived by his daughter and brothers, Lawrence “Larry” Narhi and John “Jack” Narhi, as well as his three nieces, Laura, Sarah, and Stephanie.

Bill was a loving father with a passion for revelry, motorcycles, and culinary arts.

Bill led an incredible career as a Certified Executive Chef, working at private clubs and fine dining establishments, winning numerous awards, teaching at the Culinary Arts Institute of Louisiana, and finally serving as the Executive Chef of Vero Beach Yacht Club from 2013 until his passing.

Bill was as adventurous as he was talented. In 2010, he rode his Victory motorcycle across the country (and through Canada) to complete a tour of 49 states.

Bill was loved by everyone, especially those with a sense of humor. His ability to bring laughter and joy to others was immediately evident to anyone around him. Bill was not only the “life of the party,” he was also the caterer, the entertainment, and often, the overzealous bartender.

Bill’s legacy will live on in his countless recipes and in the many stories of his adventures and antics that his family and friends will share for years to come.

Bill did not want a funeral service, but if you wish to raise a glass in his honor, you will be in good company at Rosie Malloy’s Pub.
