Journal entry by shannon smith

Happy Saturday to all.  I had a few people email asking for an update on my Dad and I thought I would write a quick note.

Dad has been recovering in Greenville and is now almost 9 weeks post surgery.  He and Patti have been laying low in Greenville due to Covid but Dad started driving a few weeks ago and has been out and about running errands when necessary and going to doctors appointments.

His had his follow up appointment with his neurosurgeon and the doctor said that the x-rays looked good and that he could remove his neck brace / collar which Dad was happy to do.  He is cleared to have physical therapy in a week or two on his neck and he has another MRI and x-ray at the end of August and a final follow up the beginning of September.  Dad is struggling most with headaches - most likely as a result of the tension and tightness in his neck and shoulder but is working through them.

Dad did see a local doctor regarding ongoing issue he has been having with his shoulder and was diagnosed with a small tear in his rotator cuff and frozen shoulder which they are treating with Physical therapy...  So hopefully he can see some improvement in that.

I know Dad is anxious to be able to travel again and get out and about... He is not working a ton on his computer but is taking phone calls if anyone wants to check in.

Thanks again for loving and supporting my Dad!  Shannon
