Bill’s Story

Site created on February 9, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Over the past months Bill has been struggling with some neurological symptoms that were affecting his life. Many doctors appointments, conversations and tests indicated that he had an enlarged artery in his brain that was putting pressure on his brain and brainstem, causing the symptoms that he was experiencing. After consulting with the surgeon it was determined that the only alternative for treatment was to place a large stent in the artery to relieve the pressure and hopefully regain some of what he was experiencing.

On Monday, January 31, Bill had surgery at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. The surgery seemed successful and he spent most of the week in the hospital and was able to go home at the end of the week.

On Friday, February 4, shortly after getting home, Bill had some complications and was sent by ambulance back to Fargo. He had suffered some strokes and the following day he had a seizure. He has been in intensive care since last Friday as is having the fight of his life. He is surrounded by his wonderful and amazing wife, Sue and sons, Mat and Luke. Family have been surrounding Sue, Luke and Mat with all kinds of support.

The stroke affected his ability to swallow and he is currently being monitored very closely as his body tries to heal. It has not been an easy week and the family is asking for prayers to be sent their way. We are praying for a miracle.
