Billie’s Story

Site created on May 24, 2018

In May 2018 Billie was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma which is a type of blood cancer that causes plasma cells  to accumulate in the bone marrow, crowding out the normal plasma cells which help fight infection.   These malignant plasma cells produce an abnormal antibody which may cause tumors, kidney damage, bone destruction, and impaired immune function.  The good news is that in the last decade it has become a highly manageable disease with many new treatment options.  In coming month more details will emerge on the specific treatment plan for Billie.

Journal entry by Billie Weyandtrivers

If Billie had survived her many illnesses, tomorrow would have neen our 62nd wedding anniversary.  Many happy memoriies of the time we had together.   Think of her often and lots of things trigger fond memories.  I know she is in a better place now and free from all the pain and suffering she dealt with.
