We're jumping into a story that's already begun. Dad was diagnosed with cancer about a month ago. Here's the very bad: he has stage 4 cancer, which has spread from his kidney to his lung and bladder. Here's the hopeful: he is on an aggressive treatment plan blending smart chemotherapy with targeted immunotherapy.
He has been through one cycle, and his progress will be assessed in 2 more cycles, probably some time in May.
As you can imagine, chemotherapy is no picnic. The effects on Dad's body have been swift and tough. He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday with dangerously low blood pressure. He'll stay put until his vitals have come up to more normal levels. He's resting comfortably and is in good spirits. He's joking with the hospital staff, so he's doing alright. While Dad was scheduled for another infusion this Wednesday, that appointment may be delayed until he's a little stronger.
Dad hasn't been much for answering texts or checking social media. This will be the best place to get updates.
