Bill’s Story

Site created on August 26, 2021

On Sunday 8/22 early in the morning Bill was rushed to the ER as he was unable to feel his legs or walk after getting to the bathroom. After a few hours of tests, they found that however being fully vaccinated with both Pfizer vaccinations, that he was COVID positive, had fluid and swelling around his heart (which at his cardiologist appointment 2 days prior was perfectly clear), and was having memory loss. He was being admitted and once a room was available, shirley would have to leave him regardless of her being fully vaccinated, leaving Bill, alone, confused, sick, and vulnerable, not to mention missing his wife…. His ride or die for the past 60 years!

Update on daddy!
Well we have officially hit the 3 month mark (90 days) Since breaking him free from the horror that existed in the transitional care facility he was transferred into! It’s been 12 weeks since I ordered all the necessities needed for him to thrive in my makeshift assisted living facility (aka dining room), so my parents could be together at least. All while getting my daddy the attention, care, and positive reinforcements he needed to beat COVID, and to return to his normal self! We’re there bumps in the road? YES! But it has all been worth it to witness what we witnessed today!
Not only is he not stuck in a wheelchair any longer, or tied down to a walker, and NO not even a cane can stop him!!! To say I’m not remarkably impressed with my dad and his fight and determination to defy the odds and the naysayers! The man is walking unassisted.
The last 30 days have been extremely tough for the both of us as I have been down out pretty much the entire month, but having my daddy and mommy here, and the constant advocating for each other, well he has moved mountains, I am still working on the bunny hills but I have a great role model! CHEERS TO THIS MAN REGAINING HIS INDEPENDENCE! 🥰
