Journal entry by Aaron Bronson

We know everyone wants to know about the healing journey for Grandpa Bill. To help ease the communication we will use this site to post updates as we have them. Thank you to everyone for your calls, offers to help and checking in.

On Tuesday evening Bill was riding his 4-wheeler and spraying weeds. Because we all know him, we know he likes to be out doing stuff and helping. When riding his 4-wheeler, he crossed the highway and hit a van. He was transported to the hospital in Ketchum for evaluation. Then was transported that night to Boise for treatment.

He is currently at St. Alfonsus Hospital in Boise. He has multiple spinal fractures and a fractured rib. They have kept him laying on his back to reduce possible injury to his delicate spine. This has been frustrating for him to have to stay in one position. But he is listening to his nurses so far. Today they put him in a brace and helped him into a standing position for the first time to see how he handled it. This will help decide the next steps in his treatment.

Maxine is being cared for by several family and friends taking turns staying with her. She knows that Bill is hurt, and will not be home for a while.

So far, Bill and Maxine are in good spirits. Their personality is still shining through as everyone is continuing to stay positive and work together to plan for any next steps.

We will keep updating the posts as we know more.
