He's in his 3rd week of IV anti-fungal infusions. Theresa is being an incredible at-home "nurse" and administering the over 2 hour treatments. They're a great team, thanks be to God!
With every infusion, things get harder. Since Thursday, he's taken a turn for the worse with unbelievable levels of fatigue, and incredible nausea. It's grueling and draining, and as I'm sure you can understand - really difficult to stay encouraged when your body is fighting back so hard against what is supposed to be healing you. His blood is tested twice a week as they are closely watching his liver and kidney functions. His skin is very jaundice looking - and his kidney numbers from the bloodwork on Thursday were off. They are coming back out today to take blood again in the hopes the kidney numbers have improved.
Next up:
- CT scan of his chest at the end of next week to check the size of the lung mass
- MRI of the brain to check the size of the brain mass, and an appointment with the infectious disease doctor in about 10 days
- Neurosurgeon appointment the week of May 20......
Prayers continue - especially for the shrinkage of both masses and for the strength and ability to withstand these treatments and recover quickly.
