Journal

I believe this will be my last update for a while.   I am approaching 3 months since surgery and am beginning to find a new normal.   Physical therapy and speech (cognitive) therapy will continue through July. I cannot say enough good things about the professionals at Kennestone’s Neuro Rehab center.   They have helped me immensely in finding new ways of doing old things.

Several weeks ago I had an MRI and received an encouraging report.   Once my therapy is complete I will be free to travel and return to normal activities.   Until then I am beginning to work part time and have even completed my first travel during the past few weeks. Being able to get back to work has been a big reward for me and I can’t thank the good people at DXC Technologies enough for their help and encouragement during my rehabilitation.

Next week I plan to participate in the Peachtree Road Race and I’m pretty excited about being able to achieve this milestone.   It’s been a tough 3 months but I feel like I have only been able to accomplish this because of the love and support of so many people.   Beth has been a constant ally and advocate and I am where I am today only because of her fierce love and constant presence.

Thank you all for you kind words, the many notes and phone calls and the endless outpouring of love.   Having a brain tumor is a lot to take in and understand. I have been told to be patient and give myself time process the last few months.  What I find even more amazing and difficult to understand is the overwhelming love and help of my family, friends and coworkers. I may never understand and comprehend all that I have been given. It is one of the greatest gifts of my life. Thank you for all that you have done for me and my family.

I have more CT’s and MRI’s in the coming months but we have no reason to be concerned about the outcome of these.  It is part of life and I am deeply grateful for the care. Bless you all and I can only hope that our paths will bring us together soon.
