Journal entry by Heidi Moore —
March 18th and 19th, 2024
During these two days, after she had resolved to discontinue care, we found ourselves relocated to the fifth floor. From the room we had an amazing view of Lakeway. We witnessed both the sunrise and sunset, as well as the undulating beauty of the rolling hills stretching as far as the eye could discern. This poignant period allowed many family members and a few close friends to visit her, bidding their heartfelt goodbyes. She remained as serene as the pain medication and anti-anxiety drugs would permit. Trey and I took turns spending our nights by her side in the hospital.

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
Today, March 20th, Mom took her last breath. She has left this world to be reunited in joyous celebration with my Dad on their shared birthday. Which is a beautiful testament to their enduring love.
Happy Birthday, Mom! Your absence is deeply felt, but your memory lives on in our hearts. Life may never be the same, but the love you left behind will continues to illuminate our days.
