Today at Senior Lunch (from where 2 Thursday’s ago Betty had a delightful corn beef meal about which she raved!) the Pastor spoke of a 20 year old who came in to talk a few days ago. The Pastor did not know this young woman who went on to describe all of the ways her life is presently challenging. As they sat together, the young woman said, “I had a vision. May I share it with you? I was walking in a field toward a
stream. As I approached the stream, I saw it was filled with diamonds. The grasses around it were made of emeralds, and the flowers were vibrant Ruby’s and other gems. As she stood there awestruck, Jesus approached her He picked a rose studded with diamonds. He handed it to me and said, “You are loved with an everlasting love. Nothing can separate you from my love.” A feeling of immense peace flowed over me and remains with me as I recall my vision.” She asked the Pastor, “You serve seniors, don’t you? I have made these roses, 80 of them to try to convey this love which Jesus wants us to understand. Will you please give one to each of your seniors? Their lives are so valuable to Jesus.” Today, as you hold hands with Betty, and whisper how she is loved in her ear (whisper for me ☺️), Jesus is also holding her hand - loving her with an everlasting love. Let us love one another, as Jesus loves us, and as Betty and Don have loved each of us. Let us give thanks to God that they will soon be together, singing glorious songs of praise to Him who is worthy.
