Betty’s Story

Site created on December 6, 2020

Betty is currently in the ICU at UNMC in Omaha, NE, where she is battling COVID-19 and complications associated with it.  She has pre-existing conditions including a donor kidney, Afib, and lung issues.  We thank you for visiting and most of all, for sending prayers that she gets through this! If you would like to send her an electronic greeting for her nurses to read to her, you may send one here (room #5346):  E-cards to send to patients (nebraskamed.com) (https://www.nebraskamed.com/patients/visiting-contacting/well-wishers-e-cards)

Journal entry by Marcie Luhman

Due to COVID-19, we are going to have a graveside service now, and we will plan a celebration of life next spring or summer when it's hopefully safer to gather.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, at the Bartley Cemetery (west of Bartley, NE). Visitation will be Sunday, December 27, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel, 607 Norris Avenue, McCook, NE.

In lieu of flowers, we have designated the Nebraska Medicine Kidney & Pancreas Transplant Excellence Fund to receive memorials in mom's name. You can give online here (be sure to choose this particular fund from the drop down menu): Give (nufoundation.org)

You can also mail memorials to the address below, just be sure to include a note that it's for the Nebraska Medicine Kidney & Pancreas Transplant Excellence Fund:
