Journal entry by Anna Brown

Mom has been home for almost 4 weeks now. I was able to stay with Mom and Dad for about 3 weeks. They have settled into a routine of OT, PT, and ST twice a week. Dad has to wait in the car but doesn't seem to mind.

Mom is diligent with her "homework" and shows steady improvement. She has even been instructed to walk inside without her rollator 3 times a day. Daddy does a good job helping and spotting her. They also walk outside 3 times a day with the rollator.

Her vision is still a major hindrance and frustration for her in both daily activities and painting practice. We are hoping that will also improve with time.

As with many of us right now, boredom is a strain. Mom is used to painting most of the day and then watching/napping with Dr Phil. Nonetheless, she really enjoys all of her cards and phone calls. She has started sorting her cards by color and planning a collage as her first post-stroke piece.

For the near future we expect Mom's recovery to be promising yet fairly routine. So, please forgive us if we do not post as often. Rest assured that no news is good news of continued progress.

Of course during this time of social distancing, in person visits are not advisable. However, phone calls are welcome!

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support!!
