Journal entry by Elizabeth Penn —
From Beth today:
Hey everyone! I wanted to give y’all an update and share all the good news I’ve recently received.
The results of my lumbar puncture and bone marrow biopsy were great! Both showed no cancer cells. So the chemo is working and I have now progressed to the next phase with my chemo treatment. Today is day 1 of 50 for this phase, and I’m really happy to start my next steps to kicking cancer to the curb. I’ll be getting a port placed on Monday which will make chemo/bloodwork so much easier.
Some other good news, my dad is a match to be my bone marrow donor for my transplant. Thank you to everyone who submitted to Be the Match on my behalf. A date for my transplant hasn’t been set yet, but I think it will be either in October or November. Overall, I feel great, no nausea, and still have (most) my hair! I’ve been very blessed considering.
I would again like to thank everyone that has continued to reached out to me to give their love, prayers, and support. It has given me more strength than you know. Keep’em coming!
