Beth’s Story

Site created on September 11, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On September 1st,  Beth noticed an enlarged lump on her right breast. After a mammogram and ultrasound, they found a 7 cm hard cyst and deemed it to be "very suspicious".  On Sept 2nd, Beth underwent a biopsy of the cyst and of two of her lymph nodes. She was notified the next day that the results came back as grade 3 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in the breast which had spread to the lymph nodes.

As we move forward, we will be keeping updates here about her journey.

Beth’s sister Cindy lost her fight to breast cancer 19 years ago at the age of 35.  Cindy was an artist, who painted a series of 29 paintings, as a diary of her breast cancer journey.  This will be incorporated in Beth's CaringBridge.

Hello Beth's Believers,

It's been just over one year ago today that marks an anniversary that I will never forget and changed my life and family life drastically.  Being diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer (stage 3C) has been so intense and the deliverance of the terror of treatments made it easy to be self-absorbed, not totally realizing how it affected others.    My mother and daughter Allison came in to the rescue to be my nurses and was very tolerant as I was not always the most compliant patient 😁.

Within 10 days of diagnosis, I had 4 doctor appointments, 2 surgeries, 3 hospital scans and started chemotherapy.  Not knowing if I was going to survive, I did know and feel each one of you graciously supporting me, encouraging me and lifting prayers up to the Lord for strength and total healing.  Well it worked, I am cancer free and going strong!  As a family member stated "God is not done with you yet and you have more damage to be done here on Earth."  I think this was a compliment?!?

As season changes and fall is now approaching, there are new challenges ahead.  My daughter Allison goes in for preventative breast cancer surgery and I start my first reconstructive surgery on September 30th.  We as a family will stay strong to live through this BRACA2 cancer gene and we will not take each day for granted anymore and live a purposeful life to help others.

I have posted some pictures from these past summer months.  My goal was to reach out to others in need and reconnect with as many friends and family as I could.  Of course, you will notice me supporting a variety of hairstyles.  👱‍♀️

Blessings,

- Beth Fries
