Journal entry by Douglas Boyum —
Well my beautiful wife Bernadine came home last night around 10pm from her 7 day stay at Abbott. She is doing great except for her speech. Everyday she is saying more words and we're going to be going through a lot of notepads too as when I can't figure out what she's trying to say she writes it down, but that doesn't always work either. I've already got her scheduled for 5 speech therapy sessions here in Waconia, it's only about 1 mile from our house! Therapy will last several months at least. Her neurologist continues to think she is way ahead of the game in her recovery process. This happened one week ago today and we can see GREAT strides already. It's still a long and frustrating process, but I'm so glad to have her by my side, sometimes when she tries so hard to say something she finally just smiles and laughs. Thanks to all of you that have prayed for us during this time and continue to do so. Probably won't be too long and Bernie will be commenting on FB.
