Newest Update

Journal entry by Ben Seifried

Well, now it's been 9 days since my last update. A lot has happened in that time, but I've been in so much pain/discomfort or tired that I have not been able to take the time to give an update.

We were blessed with meals on three different evenings (Tue-Thu) last week! It is truly a blessing not having to worry about preparing supper and knowing that it will also be on the table on time in order to get Azariah in bed on time. Then, we made a trip to New Braunfels to visit family and friends. It was a nice visit, but always too short.

Unfortunately, I was in quite a bit of pain during that whole time and when I wasn't I was so fatigued that I just had to rest basically the entire time. After returning to Houston on Monday, I messaged my doctor due to the pain/fatigue. It wasn't until after 4PM that the nurse contacted me back and wanted me to go into the Acute Care/ER downtown to get checked out. Thankfully, the scans and tests for blood clots and pneumonia came back negative. The doctor thinks it is just the beginning of an upper respiratory infection.

Tuesday I dealt with debilitating abdominal cramping all day long and could hardly keep any food down. Yesterday was better, but the cramping did make another appearance in the afternoon. I woke up hungry this morning at 4:30 and decided maybe a PB&J, some devotional time, and giving an update on here would be worth getting out of bed for :)

Please pray that my pain would continue to subside and that I would also get some better rest. I am still only sleeping about 2-3 hours at most before waking up throughout the night. Also, Autumn has informed me that my already bad snoring has become even worse and she is noticing more instances of apnea. I will be trying to get a sleep study done ASAP in order to get the formal diagnosis of sleep apnea, which I know I have, and get the breathing machine to help me sleep better.
