Journal entry by Ben Rudy —
Good Morning Readers,
I’m writing you from Butterworth hospital this morning where I am visiting to receive a my 3rd chemo treatment this year. I’m so grateful to have excellent care this close to my residence.
Here’s the latest on my care: After my relapse in January, we set out for a chemotherapy regimen aimed to push my cancer into remission with the goal of being able to receive a transplant. After reviewing the most recent PET scan, it appears the disease is responding. Today is (hopefully, probably) the last chemo needed before transplant. The team has a donor selected and we will likely start next month. The transplant will be a brutal marathon but it holds a chance for cure so it’s the path I’ve selected.
In two weeks, we will repeat our scan to confirm my progress into a remission and then it’s transplant bound.
Still so grateful for all the support; thanks for sticking with me.
-Ben
