Hello friends,

After 3 months of being out of touch, we thought we would let you know what's happening in our world.

Like many of you, we have mostly stayed isolated at home! A trip in into town is like a holiday, and what used to be mundane errands, have turned into exciting field trips!  Who could ever have imagined it?

We enjoyed Thanksgiving with our immediate family- complete with masks, 3 different tables in different rooms and social distanced!  Our family always has the best time together, laughing and visiting.  We cherish them so much!  Although we missed our big rowdy Looper & Savage families, cooking and cleaning for 10 instead of 35-40 was easy peasy.

Benny has been continuing his weekly hospital visits for his infusions and Mercy Ada oncology nurses and doctor have taken great care of him.  He takes a chemo pill (plus other drug concoctions) each day.  He continues to struggle with low platelet counts, as well as low red blood cells, and because of this has developed anemia, which in turn causes weakness,  excessive fatigue and a desire to want to sleep.  He does have his good days, and with intermittent rests, can go about his day doing what he likes to do such as being on the tractor, taking care of his cattle, going fishing, smoking food for us, watching games and spending time visiting with friends and family.  He also continues to lead a zoom Bible study for our Trinity virtual community group and enjoys frequent phone visits with his baseball guys and gals.

Last week, we returned to Little Rock for another 3 day round of tests and updates.  His doctor was extremely pleased with Benny's progress and we were told to continue the same treatment regimen and to come back in four months.  Oh yes...they also told us Benny is in COMPLETE REMISSION!  We are overjoyed and so thankful that all the treatments are working and that your many prayers and good thoughts for healing have been realized!  Thank you is too small a word for your faithfulness and love demonstrated to us in so many ways.

Hard times always provide lessons about God, family, friends and faithfulness.  But there's another thing we have learned and that is to have some fun each day.  Appreciate what is right in front of you.  With so many suffering hardships and health issues today, one can easily become discouraged and want to just give up but remember, “Nobody ever said, ‘Work ball!’ They say, “Play ball!” To me, that means having fun.” Willie Stargell and one more, "It's hard to beat a person who never gives up." Babe Ruth

So we challenge you to relish every single moment and squeeze out every drop of joy and then just keep on keeping on.  We love you every one!  We are praying for blessings upon you and yours during this holy season.
