Belinda’s Story

Site created on January 26, 2023

On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, our Mom / Granny /Wife /  Belinda was involved in a serious car accident and had to be airlifted to UAB hospital. She had to have her spleen and part of her small intestine removed. She sustained fractures to her sternum, ribs, L1 vertebrae, and occipital condyle. All will heal on their own and do not require surgery. Her right lung is bruised but should, again, heal on its own. She has a dissection of the left side vertebral artery but again, it should heal on its own and she will take a baby aspirin as a precaution against a blood clot. She has been extubated today and is talking and answering questions and moving all her extremities. This will be a day by day healing process.

Mom had her shots in her back yesterday. I just got off the phone with her and she says she feels better than she has in a very long time! Praise the Lord! I do believe the shots were successful! Thank you so much for your continued prayers!! God is so good!
