Newest Update

Journal entry by Kassidee Walker

Good morning! I am so sorry I have not been posting regularly.. Over the last week I have had little to no motivation to do really anything. But I am going to try and push myself to do more "routine like" things to keep me motivated and from falling into a slump. On the brighter side of things, WE MADE IT TO 25 WEEKS!!!!

Like I said in my last post, I am going to attach the pictures of my dad's Harry Potter lego set he built. He is so extra and even bought a glass case to display it in..

For an update on last week:

Monday - Wednesday (October 23rd - 25th) were pretty rough with bleeding and cramping.. I was just bleeding more than what I am use to plus cramping, so with some fluids and rest, I slowly started to feel a bit better. Wednesday was just another day of rest and drinking A LOT of water. I have been told that dehydration is one of the biggest contributors of cramping and bleeding. Also, did you know that bleeding causes cramping not the other way around??? I have also assumed I cramp which then leads to bleeding, when in fact blood is aggravates the cervix which then causes the discomfort. Maybe I am dumb for not knowing, but I was so surprised by this..
I had some visitors this week which was super nice!! Caleigh and Christy came to see me and brought a BOO basket which was so cute. They even brought me grape salad and candied jalapeños, and if you have never tried these two creations, you are truly missing out on a little bit of heaven. It was so nice to see them!! They are really some of the sweetest people my family has grown up knowing.
On Wednesday I asked my mom to go look at the car seat and stroller set I am super interested in getting. She was able to go and facetime me so that I can see them "sorta" in person lol. There are so many reasons I love it and literally not a single reason to not like it. So that was super exciting to see how it attaches to the seat in the car and the stroller. Since I was taking it easy the last few days, I had spent a lot of time finishing up my registry which was pretty fun too. :)

Thursday and Friday were pretty good days!! I have recently popped belly wise and can feel her kick a ton more. She is very active baby which is great, but she is for sure kicking the heck out of me. I will post pictures of my new bump update because I really look pregnant now.. Thursday, Nana came to see me which was so nice. Me, mom, and Nana all had dinner together and just hung out. Not long after she had been here, I started bleeding pretty heavily again, which really sucked. I was really convinced I was on the up and up. But that is okay, because it did not get to a point of major concern where we had to take immediate action. My nurse and I decided to go ahead and do some fluids through my picc because it has helped in the past. Josh ended up coming up here Thursday just because we were a little scared at first. Shortly after Josh got here, Christy and Chris surprised me and did a really great job on lightening the mood. We were all on edge with the bleeding and cramping, so it was really nice to have a distraction. On Friday, my mom, Tab, dad, sister, and Josh were all up here which was so great!!! I love spending time with family, it just makes everything feel a little better.  Tab treated me to a foot spa because your girl has not had a pedicure in a while... I also have gotten so much bigger that it is quite challenging for me to reach my feet to do anything..LOL So, thank you so much Tab Tab, you are the best!!! It was SO nice to get to see my sweet sissy since she has been away at school in Knoxville.. I so wish she was a bit closer, but I know she is having the absolute best time at school. Plus holiday breaks are right around the corner.

Over the weekend, not much happened. My bleeding really decreased and I felt pretty good. I was even telling the doctors how little I was bleeding because it was such a noticeable difference. But by today, Monday the 30th around 4:00 am, I started bleeding heavily again!!! UGH!!! My night nurse went ahead with fluids and immediate monitoring of baby girl. I stayed on the monitor for a good 2+ hours due to her heart rate being a bit elevated from her usual. The nurses here go on and on about her heart rate and how beautiful it is. The measure it for 20-30 minutes at a time and since I turned 23 weeks and go on monitor regularly, they have said how impressive her heart rate is. They have explained that her heart rate and brain activity looks as good as a 31 weeker.. She really is a superstar. The reason I say all this is because she has always had a perfect heart rate until this morning. My nurse said that her and the on call doctor do not think she was in any distress, they think she just got a little freaked out with all that was happening. After I got the fluids through picc and was told to drink some juice to get some sugar in my system, her heart rate leveled out and all was well.. My bleeding has slowed down some, but I really think due to her growing so fast now that she is kicking the heck out of me which is causing some of the bleeding. I am super hopeful that the more my placenta grows away from my cervix, maybe I won't have to deal with all this bleeding. However, I have been told that I really could just bleed my entire pregnancy and that is okay. We just have to keep an eye on it and see what happens. Today, Josh is with me working from the hospital and we have just played worship music and sang to our sweet girl. We are so grateful that God has got us to where we are today.. We continue to ask for prayers and uplifting thoughts as we continue this journey to parenthood.

Things I am looking forward to: Wednesday I will take the glucose test to check for gestational diabetes.
As of right now, ultrasound will be on the 13th so just a couple weeks away!!! And then on the 18th, I have my BABY SHOWER!!!!!!

Huge shoutout to my mom, dad and Josh for being here with me at the hospital at all times. They constantly are grocery shopping for me, taking care of me and all the other things. I am so grateful to have such a strong support system..
Another huge shoutout to my MIL, Kathleen for always watching our dogs and staying at the house all the time while Josh is here with me. She also is getting the nursery painted which I am so excited about. So thank so much, I love each and everyone of you.
