Mom was able to start the new chemotherapy treatment last week after her protein levels increased thanks to the infusions she received. Mom will receive a chemo treatment every 21 days with scans to follow every 9 weeks. Those scans will show whether or not the cancer is shrinking or growing.
Mom has unfortunately experienced negative side effects from the chemo. She is experiencing extreme pain and numbness in her left arm and is very fatigued. Sitting up has been challenging as that increases the pain experienced.
Mother's Day was difficult for mom. Her physical health did not allow her to attend church or be as present with us over the weekend as she wanted to be. I stayed home with her so that dad could attend church. While not the Mother's Day either of us had planned, I am thankful that I was able to be with her and take care of her, giving back just an ounce of what she has given to me.
Please continue to pray for mom and dad. Pray that the chemo works and that her health will return. Pray for peace for mom and that God will help her when she is anxious. Pray for dad as he cares for her. Pray that we can support both of them in the smallest of ways. Thank you for your prayers and for loving mom and dad.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
