Beth’s Story

Site created on November 17, 2019

Thank you for visiting Beth’s site. We are so grateful for your prayers and support!

On October 17, after just getting home from a fabulous trip to Florida, Beth went to the ER with labored breathing and was diagnosed with pneumonia. After several days of being in and out of the hospital, it became evident that Beth was dealing with something other than pneumonia. Multiple tests have revealed an aggressive, non-common bacteria, Nocardia, causing infection throughout her body.

Beth is currently being treated at Vanderbilt with strong antibiotics. This treatment will prove to be long and complex, and unfortunately, it continues to bring on new and unwanted complications. We are praying the antibiotic therapy will be effective and that Beth will begin to get stronger in the days ahead.

Right now, she is not feeling well and is asking for no visitors at this time. We truly appreciate all the requests to help and visit, but Beth is only asking for prayers healing, comfort, strength at this time. Please pray specifically that she endures the treatment and fights the infection with minimal complications.

Thank you to those of you who have asked to help. We are currently in the process of setting up a system with a team of people who will communicate specific needs. The doctors have told us this will be a long recovery (months) and there may be many opportunities to step in and help.

Thank you for your faithful prayers.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
– Isaiah 40:31
