Sign In to Show Your SupportHi everyone,
Things have not gone as we had hoped over the last 2 1/2 weeks and today we transitioned Mom to hospice care. We are truly blessed to be in Evelyn's House, (which is only about 10 mins from our house), and is the most beautiful, peaceful, loving place I could ever have wished for Mom to spend the rest of her time here with us. Her doctors are thinking weeks as opposed to days left, but with this type of situation there is never any way for us to know for sure. Mom is comfortable and as soon as she got settled in she said, "oh babe, this place is wonderful!" and then went right to sleep.
Their Covid restrictions are still somewhat in place (just not as strict). There can be 2 visitors in the room at a time, and 2 additional people can be on the patio, (each room has it's own). Nobody under 16 can be in the room, but we can bring the kids to the patio and then the door is large enough to push Mom's hospital bed outside. If you would like to visit, please text me at 314-882-9933 and let me know the days that you would be available. Since only 2 visitors (including me), can be here at a time, I am going to try and coordinate days/times for people to come so nobody has to wait outside the building to see her. The nurses, doctors, counselors, EVERYONE we have met here are absolutely incredible. A friend told me that "if angels were on earth, they would be the nurses at Evelyn's House" and she was not exaggerating in the least.
Even though the focus has changed, we still ask for your prayers for Mom to be as comfortable and at peace as possible.
Love,
Angie
