Journal entry by Alicia Mertz —
One thing Barb wants to say...
"The pieces of my life that fell apart at the beginning of July, are slowly but surely being put back together.
I've been blessed with "true grit", but I can say I couldn't have gotten through this without the bundle of prayers
and well wishes from family, friends and perfect strangers. I don't even know how to begin to thank you all.
I am humbled to be so very blessed. I am on the mends and in time I will be good as new! So consider yourselves warned💚" .
I have doctor and specialist's appointments made for months down the road and still going to
O.T. and P.T. Being home now feels "right". I am getting acclimated to many things. And yes, there are a few "hiccups",
but I'm dealing with them😉😊.
This is Alicia again...
Barb keeps having little milestones in her recovery such as sleeping alone in the house for the 1st time since the stroke. She does practice walking with a cane SOMEtimes, it is quite difficult for Mom yet, but at least she's on the way & able to try.
