Barbara’s Story

Our 'New Season of Life'

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.  In late July of 2016, Barb was diagnosed with stage 4 intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.  In addition to emails, texts and phone calls - we used this very helpful site to keep family and friends updated.  After a courageous 19 month battle with cancer, Barb peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2018.  Our Gracious God shepherded Barb and each of us through this unique season of life and now Brian and Jessica, Michael, Matthew, Tim and Susie move into a 'new season of life'.  We miss her so much as do many of you who have read or will read the story shared here. We give thanks for every moment with this amazing woman of God. Be encouraged - the Scriptures remind us over and over again that death has been swallowed up in victory.!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Brian Doyle

Hi All - the Doyle Fam is growing. Last year brought a granddaughter and next year will bring a daughter in law. Middle son Matt proposed to Liz Cheatham last week and they will be married next May.

Liz is also a graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy and they are both stationed currently in Texas. She was born and raised in Indiana and became a Christ follower during her high school years. She loves the Lord and of course - loves Matt!

It is so fun to see Liz and Jess and Susie laughing with joy as they share ideas about the wedding. Of course, it feels like someone is missing and how much Barb would love being part of this.

As I observe the maturity of Matt these past couple of years, I thank God again and again for Barb and for how she invested deeply into each of the children. Though she is not able to see the fruit of her labor - we see it and we rejoice.

Other Family Updates:
 - Susie is starting her second year at UNF in Nursing and loves being part of the Navigator ministry
 - Tim is beginning his senior year at UCF and with Young Life and is developing a sweet friendship with a young godly woman at UNF
 - Mike was just transferred by P&G from Boston to San Antonio and is launching new friendships there
 - Jess and Andrew and sweet Eloise love their Kentucky home and friends and ministry.
 - Dad continues with Iron Sharpens Iron and with men at the Church of Eleven22 in Jacksonville because when you build godly men - everyone wins!

Thank you to those that pray for us and have prayed for us over the years. We are doing remarkably well - better than what I had even hoped. Please pray that just as Jesus triumphs over death that joy would continue to triumph over sadness.

God bless you!
Brian
