I was feeling stir crazy so we decided I could make the trek to Summerfest July 7! Music is good for the soul. I was able to see my brothers, my friend Rachel, and stay at my parents house...and then we headed to Madison on Monday and got to take Jollymon out on the Lake with our nephew Alan and wife Woo. Then went to dinner with Haley that night. Good music...good friends... precious family...boating...enjoying the moments!
I still continue to use those gauze pads 24/7...my skin is much lighter now but still peeling and healing...no pain and no itch though! A bit tired at times but nothing horrible. And still biking, running, or walking each day!
Started the Tamoxifen...I say ‘thank you’ to the little pill each night before I take it and no crazy side effects yet.
I’ve been asked to be a volunteer peer counselor to other women who will be newly diagnosed with breast cancer. This is a new program my hospital is offering and I’ll do the training next month and look forward to helping others travel through this journey and be mighty!
Good news...Greg and I decided that our Nova Scotia Harley trip is a go!! We were supposed to go 2 years ago but couldn’t due to other plans taking up the summer... then planned to go last summer; however, that’s when I had all my major surgeries so we couldn’t go then. This is Greg‘s dream trip so, when this reoccurrence occurred in April, we were frustrated because we had to cancel the Alaska trip...then thought this one might have to be canceled also, after seeing the toll radiation took on my skin. But we are pleasantly surprised at how well the healing process has been going and we did put the trip off a week, but now we are full steam ahead! A well deserved trip for us, Greg is giddy and I am so happy I was able to heal up enough to make his dream trip come true...well deserved ❤️ We leave in the morning!
