Barbara’s Story

Site created on April 27, 2020

In November of 2019 my mom, Barbara, began    having severe abdominal pain. A visit to the           emergency room revealed that she definitely had something going on. Thus began our journey         starting with her primary doctor, Dr. Harmon, who is awesome. He provided her with excellent care and her referral to Dr Thacker at Barnes Jewish Hospital.  After weeks of testing and waiting and CT scans and more waiting, we found out that she has stage 3 ovarian cancer and cancer of the omentum which is part of a woman's stomach. The course of action began with 9 weeks of chemotherapy and here we are at the second stage which is her surgery.

Mom has made it through her surgery with flying colors! I have not talked to her yet as she is still in recovery, nor do I know what room she is going to be in but hopefully I will get to talk to her sometime this evening. Thank you all very much for the prayers hearts and hugs, I know it had to have helped!!
