Barbara’s Story

Site created on July 8, 2019

Barbara and Ernie were on a trip through the Flying Longhorns that visited Italy, Sicily and Malta from June 21-30. On her return flight home she became ill and was experiencing abdominal pain.  The connecting flight landed in Frankfurt, Germany. She was transported to a recommended hospital where she had an emergency surgery to fix a bowel obstruction.  She has a stoma in place.   The Dr recommended 7-10 days to recover in the hospital and then will be transported home. We will continue updates through this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Lucy Lennox

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mom.  She passed away peacefully at 6:52PM.  She is whole again in heaven with Jesus and loved ones who have made it there before her.  We already miss her but feel so blessed by the legacy she left and cherished memories that we will hold on to forever.  We love you, Mom!

I would also like to thank you all for being a bridge of support & love that has held us up over these last couple of months.  The Koy family is blessed by all of you for prayers, messages, meals, visits, conversations, and filling in the need before even knowing it.  We have truly seen the depths of community (once again) and will be forever grateful.
