Journal entry by Leslie deRosset

Dear friends and family -

I have just spent the last 10 days with Mom and Beth in Maryland. Dave was there the week before supporting and helping. We were all lucky enough to spend the weekend of June 17 with her - Bob, Alexandria, Robert, Katie, Will, Dave, and John. We ate, we laughed, we confessed to cleaning her house! Jeanne came for a few days and brought love and laughter to the house.

Over the last few weeks, she has gained strength and energy. She is walking well, doing her exercises, managing her overall health and becoming more independent by the day. PT and OT are going well. She has had some check-ups - and all with a good prognosis of full-recovery.

To all of you who continue to call, text and email  -- we are eternally grateful. Mom has a renewed spirit, happiness and joy that I have not seen in a long time. I truly think this was one of my best weeks I have spent with her in a long time (well, Nicaragua, thanksgivings in Siesta Key and my wedding may top it!). She will continue to stay with Beth (AKA Saint Beth) for a couple of weeks and then likely come to visit us in Raleigh (fingers crossed). Also Katie has been an amazingly helpful and gracious granddaughter over the last month!

And hopefully, when the world returns to the new normal, Mom and friends/family will be able to get together "in a social distancing-appropriate-masked-up-way" for visits. (She adores all of you).

Thank you for all you have done for us over the last couple of months. We will forever be grateful for your prayers, love, friendship, and warmth.

Love
Leslie, Beth, and Dave
