Barbara’s Story

Site created on March 7, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. God is our hope and our strength.
Thank you for visiting.

Barbara was diagnosed with triple negative metatastic breast cancer in the summer of 2020.  She underwent surgery and started chemotherapy.  She was unable to handle the chemotherapy and stopped it after one treatment.  She was supposed to start radiation therapy instead but the radiologist recommended that she not go through it as all of her scans were clear post surgery.  In January of 2021 Barbara had pain in her back and other places.  After a couple of falls at home she was scanned and lesions were found in her neck and lower back.   The cancer has returned.

Barbara is completing a 2 week regimen of radiation to shrink the tumors for comfort and is resting at Blount County Hospital in Maryville Tennessee until Tuesday the 9th.  From there she will go to Life Care Center of Blount County to work on her strength.  Her husband Dan is visiting her every day at the hospital but will not be able to physically visit her until the Covid 19 restrictions are lifted.   Please pray for Barb’s comfort and also for Dan in this difficult time.
